Regular consumption of coffee reduces the risk of skin cancer

According to a recent study, women who drink more than three cups of coffee a day have 20% reduced risk of developing a basalioma (basal cell carcinoma) in relation to those who consume little or no coffee.

For men who seem to benefit less from this protective effect without explaining why consuming more than three cups of coffee a day reduced by at least 9% risk of developing cancer of skin.

The studied authors were surprised by these results.

Although it has been observed in mice a relationship between caffeine in ointment and reducing the risk of skin cancer, epidemiological studies have shown that link.

The study indicates that coffee consumption may be an important option to help prevent skin cancer, with nearly one million new cases diagnosed each year basalioma, dietary factors such as consumption of coffee a day, even with modest protective effects could have a major impact on the health service.

It is not the first time that anti-cancer properties are vested coffee, in May 2011, a study found that men who drink six cups of coffee a day reduced by 20% their risk of developing prostate cancer. The decrease reached 60% in the case of the most deadly form of this tumor.

The risk reductions were similar to the common coffee for decaffeinated coffee, suggesting that the virtues of this drink are related to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Another study showed a 60% lower risk of cervical cancer in women who consumed more than three cups of coffee per day compared with those who drank less than two cups a week.
